“Better bundle up so you don’t catch a cold!” This phrase has been passed down, by mothers, from generation to generation. The logic seems to make perfect sense. People tend to get sick more often in the cooler months, so the cold weather must be the culprit, right? Well, while the fall and winter months do see more colds and flus, the outdoor temperature is not what’s making you sick. There are actually a number of biological, environmental, and social factors that are the real cause of why we get sick in the winter.
